This website is operated by Murataka, a sole trader business based in the Netherlands. Murataka sells authentic Japanese blades, cosplay replicas, 3D printed goods, and provides web development services.

WHAT DATA WE COLLECT

Murataka is a small independent business. We do not run large-scale data collection or tracking systems. Personal data we may collect is limited to what is necessary to respond to enquiries and process orders.

Contact enquiries — when you use our contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address, and message contents.
Order information — when placing an order, we collect your name, email, shipping address, and payment details.
Custom order requests — details you provide when requesting a custom 3D print, website quote, or product enquiry.
Website usage — our hosting provider may collect basic technical data such as IP addresses and page visit logs.

WHY WE COLLECT IT

To respond to your enquiries — we need your name and email address to reply.
To process and fulfil orders — we need your shipping address and contact details.
To deliver web development services — we need your contact details to communicate throughout the project.
To comply with legal obligations — we may be required to retain certain transaction records for tax purposes.

We do not collect data for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is described above.

HOW LONG WE KEEP IT

Enquiries and messages — retained for up to 12 months in case of follow-up, then deleted.
Order records — retained for 7 years in accordance with Dutch tax law, then deleted.
Custom project files — retained for the duration of the project plus 6 months, then deleted unless otherwise requested.

WHO WE SHARE DATA WITH

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party under any circumstances.

Shipping carriers — your name and address are shared with the courier used to deliver your order.
Payment processors — payment information is handled by secure third-party providers.
Hosting provider — our website host processes technical data as part of running the infrastructure.

Murataka does not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. Our website may use strictly necessary session cookies required for the site to function. If additional cookies are introduced in future this policy will be updated.

PAYMENT

Murataka currently processes orders through direct discussion and individual arrangement. Payment terms are confirmed in writing via email before goods are dispatched or work begins.

Payment must be received in full before goods are dispatched, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
For web development services, a 50% deposit is required before work begins. The remaining 50% is due upon completion and approval.
All prices are listed in Euros and are inclusive of any applicable VAT unless stated otherwise.

Murataka intends to introduce automated payment processing through WooCommerce in future. These terms will be updated accordingly.

SHIPPING

Murataka ships worldwide from the Netherlands. Shipping costs and delivery times are confirmed at the time of order.

International customers are responsible for any import duties, customs fees, or taxes applicable in their country.
Tracking information will be provided for all shipments where available.
It is the buyer's responsibility to confirm that importing the purchased item is legal in their country.

DAMAGED ITEMS & RETURNS

Contact joey@murataka.nl within 48 hours of receiving a damaged item with photographic evidence. We will file a carrier claim on your behalf.

Returns: Under EU consumer law you have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, provided the item is unused and in its original condition. Custom 3D prints and bespoke items are non-refundable unless damaged.

LIVE STEEL DISCLAIMER

All live steel blades sold by Murataka are sold strictly as collector items and decorative pieces. They are not sold as weapons.

By purchasing a live steel blade you confirm you are of legal age in your country to own such an item.
You confirm that ownership and import of the item is legal under the laws of your country.
Murataka accepts no liability for any injury, damage, or legal consequence arising from misuse.
Murataka reserves the right to refuse any order where there is reasonable concern about intended use.

AGE REQUIREMENTS

Purchase of live steel blades is restricted to adults. By placing an order for any bladed product you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older, or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction if higher than 18.

WEB DEVELOPMENT SERVICES

All work is scoped and priced on a per-project basis. A written proposal is provided before work begins.
A 50% deposit is required before work commences. The remaining 50% is due upon completion and client approval.
One round of revisions is included. Additional revision rounds may be charged separately.
All work becomes the property of the client upon receipt of final payment.
Hosting, domain, and third-party plugin costs are not included unless explicitly stated.

GOVERNING LAW

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Dutch courts. EU consumers may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
